Mounds State Park and Ball State U

"Wow, look at those mounds . . . "

Muncie, home to Ball State University, and Mounds State Park are not far from each other, so we thought we'd kill two birds with one stone. And squeeze a little geocaching in along the way. We are trying to expose the kids to area universities to give them a sense of what they are looking for. Ball State is known as a telecom university since David Letterman donated a largess into the program. They did have a pretty awesome art museum that we saw for about 10 minutes prior to their closing. Mounds State park is called Mounds because human created ancient mounds were found here that date back to 160 B.C. Sounds fascinating, right? Not so much. It's basically a nice state park with trails. The mounds are hills with fences around them--you can't even sled on them. We had a great day anyway, stopping off at a Farm and Fleet type store to show the kids just how "citified" they are.
